Episode 76: Her Perfect Vehicle - Magical motorcycle writings
Sometimes I struggle, as I have today, to find the right words to describe how much I love to ride my motorcycle. Riding today takes me back to my 11 year old self. The little kid who’s parents gifted him with a tiny little mini-bike with a Briggs and Straton lawn mower engine. A kid who’s world was transformed. Now that little kid is a grandfather, but the thrill is the same. Exactly the same. Wow, I’m getting emotional. Ha ha. Honestly, I can’t always find the words to express who meaningful riding is to me and for so many of us around the world. But others have very effectively found those words. One such person is Milissa Holbrook Pierson from her 1997 book, The Perfect Vehicle. So today, with your permission, we will hear from the most eloquent Forward that I’ve ever heard. I’ll have a link in the show notes for how you can get your own copy of this book. So for now, I ask you to relax, pour yourself a favorite coffee or tea, take a couple of deep slow breaths, and listen to these poetic words that describe our beautiful world of motorcycling.
